The CAN Equity Committee is focused on grounding the principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at the network’s core. As part of Appalachia’s Just Transition, CAN is dedicated to addressing the historical marginalization of many communities in Appalachia with a specific focus on addressing race-based inequities. The committee’s goal is to take an inclusive, empowering look at what the just future of Central Appalachia can truly look like through education, empowerment, and inclusion.
STRUCTURE
The Equity Committee helps educate and guide the network to keep people-centered. Though the committee is temporary, the work is not and joining the committee is the way for every member of CAN to invest in its future.
